The .NET framework is a Microsoft framework for creating web applications utilising a number of different languages such C# and VB. It is used to create powerful applications using its vast library. Programs written for the .NET Framework execute in a software environment known as the Common Language Runtime (CLR). The CLR is an important virtual machine application which provides important services to our application being built. The services which it provides include security, memory management, and exception handling. The class library and the CLR together constitute the .NET Framework.
