Internet Connectivity
Connecting to the internet is the very first step in accessing the World Wide Web and building your website. People connect to the internet through various means, offering varying degrees of connection speed, this dictates how quickly your web browser can view web pages and their content, how rapidly you can stream online media and what download speeds your connection can achieve.
We offer a wide ranging selection of internet connections, meaning it's never been easier to get yourself or your business working online. Our different packages are geared up to suit everybody's needs, and range from free dialup for those on the move, through ADSL for homes and businesses to SDSL for larger organisations.
Dial Up
A simple dial-up connection uses your phone line (with an attached modem or router) to establish a link to your Internet Service Provider. The advantage of dial-up is it's simplicity, it requires no infrastructure except an existing telephone network. Depending on your modem, the best connection speed is 56K.
Broadband
ADSL broadband, or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, is currently the most common type of broadband. It simply means that by converting your analogue phone line to a digital line (ADSL line) your phone line can now be used to simultaneously transmit data at a much higher speed than a regular dial up connection. Also, a broadband connection always remains connected so there is no need to dial in everytime you want to use the Internet.
We offer connection speeds of up to 8mb, with no download limits. Ideal for both personal and business use, this means you can always access what you want, with almost no wait, and not have to worry about exceeding any bandwidth limitations.
SDSL
Increasingly, new technology such as advances in cloud computing and video conferencing, requires higher upload speeds than traditional ADSL lines can offer. We offer the next step up, so that your business can continue to grow along with the latest technology and you can get the highest connection speeds possible. SDSL, or Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line, gives you a stable platform to progress with symmetrical upload and download, compared to regular ADSL lines where the upstream bandwidth is lower than the downstream bandwidth. SDSL can offer speeds of up to 32 Mbps with a 10:1 - 1:1 contention ratio - ensuring that online speeds will not be disrupted at peak times, giving your business a more efficient and reliable way of transferring data.
Leased Lines
For maximum business efficiency we also offer Leased Lines, whereby we agree to deliver a symmetric telecommunications line connecting two or more locations exclusively in exchange for a set monthly rate.
Typically, leased lines are used by businesses to connect geographically distant offices. A leased line is always active and the fee for the connection is a fixed monthly rate. The primary factors affecting the monthly fee are distance between end points and the speed of the circuit. Because the connection doesn't carry anybody else's communications, you can be sure of a given level of quality and the quickest connection possible. Leased Lines are incredibly cost effective, particularly if you tend to exchange large volumes of traffic between your company’s sites or a valued business partner, ideal for larger organisations.
